Our research group is a member of the LSIIT. Our research area is mainly the design and analysis of protocols and networking architectures, particularly in using the new IPv6 internet protocol. We are interested in problems with multipoint communications, such as multicast routing, reliable multicast, video broadcasting with heterogeneous quality. We are also interested by various aspects of mobility (terminal mobility, communication mobility, service location). We also work on network topology generation and simulation.

	On June 28 2007, Emil Ivov Petrov win the Région Alsace Price for the SIP Communicator in the innovating technology enterprise contest.

Starting September 1 2007, Julien Montavont has been recruited as an Associated Professor in the Computer Science Department of ULP and the Networking and Protocols research team of Lsiit.

Events

- We organized the CNRS Summer School ING2004

- Thomas Noël coordinated the IPv6 project STIC-Asie with Japan 2004-06

- Thomas Noël is the scientific coordinator of the joint CNRS-JST Mobility in Next All Wireless Internet project with Japan 2006-08

- The team together with the Wide project is managing a large scale experimental service between France and Japan for supporting worldwide mobility

- Jean-Jacques Pansiot is a member of the steering comity of the RTP Réseaux de Communication and then a member of the CNRS expert commitee ResCom

- Thomas Noël obtains an "ACI jeune chercheur" grant

- The LSIIT is chosen as one of the four sites of the experimental platform Recap for sensor networks

- Thomas Noël is at the initiative of a large scale deployment of a wireless and Ipv6 network on the Osiris network of Strasbourg (more than 400 access points, and 10,000 users).
